Collaborationand Creative Applications

  • Microsoft 365
    Provides a variety of collaboration and productivity applications to Tulane employees,including but not limited toemail, Teams, Office, OneNote, OneDrive, Forms, To-Do, Tasks by Planner and To Do,Sharepoint, and Power Apps.Login to your Microsoft 365 account using your Tulane email and password.Read our Teamsgetting started guide.Join for Teams trainingorview our tutorials and knowledge base in the Tulane Teams Resource Hub.

  • Adobe Creative Cloud
    A set of creative applications that include Acrobat, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, E-Sign, Forms, cloud storage and more.Sign in toyour free Creative Cloud account with your TU email and password.

Computer Set Up (Home or Office)

    Contact your department manager to request a new device.

    If you have purchased a new device through Tulane, submit a New Computer and Device Setup requestto ensure your device is set up properly.

Computer Labs and Virtual Desktops

  • AppsAnywhere,appsanywhere.tulane.edu
    Virtual application delivery solution
    Access desktop applications (i.e., Adobe Creative Suite and other academic software) directly from your computer without having to install the software. Also, great for Mac users needing to access Windows-only software. Files edited or created from AppsAnywhere are deleted once the user logs out. Be sure to save your work to your Tulane Box or OneDrive account before logging out.

  • VMware Horizon virtual desktop, horizon.tulane.edu
    Remote Windows 10 desktop solution
    Great for remote department-wide application and data access for a consistent hybrid/remote experience. Access your local file shares and internal department resources. Anyone with an active Tulane account can log in. Either install the desktop client (recommended) or open the web client (quickest option).Note: your work will not be saved on the virtual desktop, so be sure to save to your Tulane OneDrive and Box account.

Cybersecurity

Digital Forms, Surveys, and Digital Signatures

  • Frevvo
    Streamline complex workflows and collect large scale data for high impact operational and administrative processes. Recommended for departmental purposes. Requests approved on a case- by-case basis. Please allow one month lead time.Fill out an intake form.

  • Adobe Forms and ElectronicSignatures
    Turn PDFs into fillable forms with Prepare a Form or sign/send electronic signatures on digital forms using Adobe Sign. Sign in to your Tulane Adobe Creative Cloud account using your TU credentials.

  • Microsoft Forms (Microsoft 365)
    Create basic forms using the Microsoft Forms application. Sign in using your Tulane credentials.

  • Qualtrics Survey and Reporting Tool
    Design, develop, and distribute customizable digital surveys and forms that collect data analytics, provide reports, create workflows, and to report.

File Sharing

  • Local Network Drives
    Remotely accessing your local Tulane file shares and networkdrive requires a VPN connection and anti-virus protectionon your device.

    READ CAREFULLY: All users must migrate toone of our free secure cloud storage and file sharing solutions, Box or OneDrive, by December 31, 2021. Easily access your account by logging in to either cloud storage solutionusing your Tulane email address and password.

  • Cloud File Storage and Sharing
    Securely access, manage, and share your files from anywhere on any device using one of Tulane's cloud storage solutions, Box or OneDrive. Easily log in to your Tulane cloud storage accounts using your Tulane email and password. Need help migrating your files? Contact the IT Service Desk for assistance.

Password Reset (Tulane Account)

When not connected to the university's internet network (off campus), you must first connect to Tulane's Virtual Private Network (VPN)beforeresetting your Tulane password. Remember Tulane's password policy requiresthat passwords expire every 180 days.

Phone Options and Voicemail

  • Request a Tulane phone number
    If you are a new employee and need an assigned Tulane phone number or an existing employee who wishes to move or remove a phoneline, please submit an analog line request.Read more about phone features like forwarding, transfering, or conferencingcalls from your Tulane deskphone.

  • Call forwarding vssoftphone calling

  • Call forwarding
    Forwarding your desk phone to your mobile or home phone requires you to call a designated ClearSpan Anywhere phone number before placing outbound calls. All outbound calls are displayed as your Tulane phone number on caller IDs. Inbound calls ring to both your Tulane desk and secondary phone. Request call forwarding.

  • Softphone calling app
    Clearspan Communicator, a desktop (Windows/Mac) and mobile (smart devices) app, functions like a virtual desk phone, allowing you to place/receive calls and check voicemail directly from the app. Request a softphone.How do I usethe softphone app?Read more about the Clearspan Communicator app.

  • Deskphone features
    Learn how to forward, transfer, or conference calls from your Tulane deskphone.

  • Voicemail setup and management
    When you request a Tulane assigned phone number, you will receive a temporary passcode andinstructions for setting up your voicemail via email from the IT Telecommunications Office. Voicemail settings are managed in the Mitel Clearspan web portal. Visitit.tulane.edu/voicemailfor more information.

  • Microsoft Teams callingand chat
    Use Teams to quickly call or chat colleagues directly from your mobile or desktop device while protecting your personal information. Log in to Teams using your Tulane email and password to access these features.

Printing and Fax

  • Remote printing
    Consult with your department about special printing procedures (i.e., transcripts, diplomas, payroll checks) or contact the Service Deskfor further assistance.

  • Virtual fax (electronic fax)
    Sent as email attachments, e-faxes may be requested using the request form.

Secured Network Connections

Connecting to Tulane's Virtual Private Network (VPN)
Certain Tulane applications and systems require a secured VPN connection (i.e., Banner) when not connected to the Tulane network on campus. Check the VPN applications and systems list to confirm if your app/system requires a VPN when working from a non-Tulane internet connection.

Webinars and Video Conferencing

  • Zoom Pro and Healthcare Accounts
    Employees each have an individual Zoom account through Tulane. Log in to your Tulane Zoom account from the portal, tulane.zoom.us, using your Tulane email and password. For a HIPAA-compliant account, request Zoom for Healthcare.

  • Zoom Webinars and Reservations
    View our Zoom Webinar FAQs or submit a webinar reservation.

  • Microsoft TeamsMeetings
    Quickly and easily set up meetings or place instant calls using Teams meetings. These accommodate up to 100+ participants and have similar features to Zoom meetings. Pro Tip: meeting chats save directly to your Teams chat and are easily accessible after the meeting ends. Learn more about Teams meetings.

  • Changing your meeting backgrounds for virtual meetings
    It's important to maintain your privacy while also conductinga professional and productive meeting when working remotely. To help limit background distractions and keep your personal space private, change your video background on Zoom or Teams for your virtual meetings.

  • Managingmeeting audio for you and your participants
    To minimize background noise during your virtual meetings, mute your audio during your video conferencecalls. Hosts may also control meeting participants audio from their meeting's settings in both Zoom and Teams. Pro Tip: If your audio becomes too choppy because of a low internet bandwidth, you can turn off yours or your participants video to improve your audio.
